Interior Designer 2

Went to meet another interior designer on Monday. http://www.boxidstudio.com.sg/main.html

This firm is different from the other firm as it does not offer a standard package. The designer was telling us that standard package is just like 'MacDonalds' combo meals..want to upsize then you have to pay more'...haha..and also we never know if they were going to charge extorbitant prices for the additional items that we wanted.

So needless to say, we have to be prepared to pay more if we want to use this designer because everything would be by per ala carte.

However, he was able to convince me because he was able to draw out in simple perspective drawings the whatever designs that he proposed during our discussions. He drew with his free hand on the spot! This was the first time I see something so amazing as everything came out crystal clear once we were able to see the perspective drawings.

He was also able to give practical advice when we mentioned that we were afraid that there would not be enough space to place a shoe rack at the wall in between the kitchen wall and the front door. Solution that he gave: 'eat' into the kitchen wall such that only part of the shoe rack would be protruding out.

However, what was demoralising was because he said that for the price we are willing to pay (about $20K to $25K), the outcome would not be like a designer house, or rather a house that was designed by a designer..something like that...

SIGH....

Meeting another one next friday so look out for Interior Designer 3...
