Yahooooo!!

I went through my bank accounts last night and I am happy that I managed to save more money than last year. I wondered how was that possible too, since there wasn't much bonuses this year - only the measly $750 in Dec and performance bonus in Mar.

Maybe because I spent alot on renovation last year?!

Nevermind! Since I have met my savings quota - saving more than the previous year, I shall go ahead and get my Kate Spade bag!!

Oh yes! We checked our CFP accounts and based on rough calculation we will have enough money to clear the remaining HDB loan before end of 2010. Yeah! I will be DEBT-FREE very soon and the OWNER of my flat!! No longer a lessee wor!!

Actually we were harbouring thoughts of paying all the remaining by cash, don't want to let HDB earn interest of $90+ to $100+ every month.

As of now, the remaining loan is $42K. After deducting CPF, we have to fork out $16K cash. Sigh, but so 心痛 to part with $16K cash all at one time leh...Still thinking....

Hubby says after that can save up for a condo. See first la, don't know why but I am not very interested in private properties. Maybe for investment ba. Hmmm.....

Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe

Ingredients:

2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tbsp vanilla essence
1 egg
1 egg yolk
chocolate chips

Method:
- Sift flour, baking soda and salt.

- Cream butter and sugar with electric mixer

- Beat in vanilla essence, egg and egg yolk until light and creamy.

- Mix in sifted ingredients.

- Stir in chocolate chips with wooden spoon.

- Roll 2 tbsp of dough and placed on baking tray lined with baking paper.

- Bake 15 to 17 minutes at 165'C.

Went shopping with Elaine at Parkway yesterday evening. She bought a bra from Isetan and the cashier was damn !@#$%... ok I usually do not lose my temper in public..but this fella just made me lose my cool...

1. Elaine had vouchers and I remembered that she could still get further discounts with my Isetan card. The cashier mummbled something which I could not catch, but she was doing a bad job explaining the discount system. She also suggested that Elaine should use my discount of 5% and save her vouchers for another time, which did not make sense because can use both mah. Anyway Elaine later told me that she was saying that it was very troublesome for her to use both discount and vouchers...no wonder...if I had caught her saying that..she would have gotten it from me...

2. While we were making payment, an old lady came and asked to be served (she had to fill up some coupons or whatever so the cashier became very distracted) because apparantly she came before us and then went off to shop somemore. Ok, technically speaking she should queue behind us right. Nevermind, old lady ma, so give face la. But this cashier settled our payment but did not pack Elaine's stuff then went on to serve the old lady...until Elaine reminded her!

3. While she was still serving Elaine I told her I wanted to settle my Isetan card bill. Normally the cashier would call up customer service to check the balance. She told me to go up to Customer Service but I told her no, and that she should call. She then say I have to wait until she served that old lady because she was here before us....hmmm.....but the old lady walked off right, so technically she should re-queue right?! But nevermind, old lady give face ma...

4. So we waited while she served the old lady, then a queue began to form behind us. She looked at me and had the audacity to tell me that I have to wait until she finish serving all the customers in the queue??!!! What the !@#$%!! I wonder if she had eyes to see and brains to think anot leh!!! I never queue is it?? Then why she never ask the old lady to queue?!

Wa...I just took my card back and walked away la.....mood spoiler leh this fella....damn poor service!!! And liked Elaine said, simply lazy...

Yeah! I finally bought my claypots from NTUC! And cheap lor, $4 each only!!

Singapore Malls

Took sometime off to go shopping after Court on Thursday.

Wanted to buy/get some ideas for Christmas gifts and checkout some stuff from forever21.

Yes, managed to buy some Christmas gifts, checkout the stuff from forever21, bought little items for F and J because I wanted to cheer J up abit, a BIG item and chocolates for myself :D

The Malls - all linked from Taka - Wisma - Ion - Wheelock are damn good la. Wide array of shops, food and best part is that they are all linked. However, I got a kindda 'squashed' feeling at the end of the 2 hours shopping probably because you hardly get to see any lights from outside as the malls are all-in-one :D

Nonetheless, the experience was good; after not having done any SERIOUS shopping in local malls for a long time because of the many Bangkok and 1 Guangzhou trips :P

Now the BIG item:









Crown design diamond pendant. Liked it very much when I saw this on a magazine last week and was wondering if I should just go take a look when I passed by Soo Kee. Ok, so I went in to 'just take a look'. In the end, bought it because I like the crown design :) Damage: $400.

After that went to forever21, then proceeded to Wheelock as I wanted to go Birkenstock. Passed by Ion and was impressed by the wide array of shops. But did not shop there as I did not have alot of time and my bag was darn heavy with the stupid files la.

Went to Marks and Spencers first to look at gifts. Managed to get a few! Yeah! Oh and the diaries there are nice lor! But the sad thing is that the holiday dates are not localised :(( Bought chocolate to cheer-up J as well. Called Sandra just to check if J was in office as I thought it would be nice to give her a surprise. But silly Sandra later told J I was looking for her and J called me back. So my little surprise was no surprise liaoz.. :((

Went to borders, found a diary that I like but they did not have it in the weekly format :((

Got attracted by a shop on my way to Birkenstork. This shop - Chocolate Research Facility, sells chocolates with very unique flavours and packing leh!! They have nuts, alcohol, 4 seasons range, milk, fruits and many other very interesting flavours! I bought 2 for myself to try first - Yuzu and Tiramisu flavour. Shall go back nearer to Christmas to buy more!!










Final stop - Birkenstock. Did not manage to get my Disney Birkis because they did not have my size in the design I wanted :((

Another dream...

I became friends with this lady who owns a push-cart at Cathey because I have been buying earrings from her :P

She told me that the rent for her push cart is $2000 per month; meaning, she is already making a lose of $70 in terms of rent when she starts business each day. However, she said that she is still able to make profits because her cost price is quite low.

I made a rough calculation. She has to make a profit of $70 per day just to cover her rent. Add in additional costs like labour hours, opportunity cost, etc, maybe she must earn a profit of $200 per day. From the stuff she is selling, that averages to about 10 pairs of earrings or 8 to 10 bracelets or 15 to 20 bags....

She gets her stuff - raw materials for the earrings, bracelets etc and bags mainly from Bangkok, some from Shenzhen and Guangzhou. She flies to Bangkok bi-monthly to stock up and she only incur cost for air ticket because she has relative in Bangkok and hence can save cost for accomodation.

Maybe if I really do quit, this is a good venture?? Haha....it's not a crime to dream right? :D

Got to know just this morning that the man who died at Hilton Hotel is related to someone I know. Sigh. Very sad after hearing the news.

No strength and energy at gym too. Struggled my way through class and got 'ooi-ed' twice by Calvin because simply got no strength la...

Went to collect my ring and passed by Hilton Hotel. Haiz.....

Then went to Jim's place at Bukit Panjang.....hai....all morbid stuff today...

Life has really not been fair to some people; and more than fair to some people. And why do people who have had a good life/not so bad life/so far nothing has happened in their life etc lament and complain about life, still feel that life is unfair, still want more and more and more in life?

I know, me included. Sometimes I complain about work, complain about how expensive branded bags are...

Some of those people whom life had not been fair to probably only want their life, want their life so that they can continue living? Adequate money to live by?

Saturday: family day. The kids Iris and Isaac are coming over! Initially wanted to prepare steamboat, but the thought of having to do all the shopping and preparation by myself puts the whole idea off...>.<||| And the thought of the helper helping to clean up after dinner did not make me change my mind :D.

Take leave is to rest and nuah ma right??! So we shall order pizza and KFC instead. I am sure the kids would love that even more! Will also bake cookies for them :))

Sunday: continue to nuah..maybe some baking/cooking.

Next Monday: Initially was thinking of going for Cal's afternoon class at Cathay but he told me he's on course and would not be teaching on Monday. Sian, don't know who is taking over his classes. Probably would go for pedicure, nuah at home and gym ba.

麻辣火锅！！

The day for 麻辣火锅 buffet finally came!! Went with Elaine, Faith and Liling.

But the quality of the food was really not up to standard leh - food was so-so and variety not wide enough. Hence it was quite pricy at $24 per person after all the additional charges and separate order of a can of drinks each. And the 麻辣 was really nothing but a pot of oil lor. Not spicy also. It was really impossible to drink the 麻辣 'soup'.

I did not remember it to be so oily when I had it in Taiwan a few years back. Luckily we ordered 鸳鸯锅 so the other soup base was chicken soup.

Although we were already filled to the brim, the gluttony us decided to proceed to Bugis for dessert....mango pomelo...

But I must say that the 麻辣 really work wonders if you have not been clearing your bowels. I reached home and immediately cleared mine :D

Irritating people!

Pump class was nothing threatening yesterday and it was not Junwei who taught the class. However I was still breathing hard because I got so irritated by this guy standing in front of me. He simply refused to budge even an inch although he knew that I hardly had space. Darn selfish and 自恋 because he could see himself in the mirror at the spot where he was. Cannot stand him ah, flexing his muscle and checking himself out in the mirror in the middle of the class. Grrr....

Cal's combat was a roar lah. And I was really tired out after that! Usually I would jog for at least another 30 minutes after combat class but I could not drag myself to do it last night! He was audited last night, so he was even more high la....usual class already high, but last night was X2.....surely knock out lor....

I'm loving gym! :D

Nervous

Feeling abit nervous to attend Jun Wei's pump class later.

Today is the first day where they will combine the new and older releases. Having done 3 weeks consecutively of the new release for the past 3 weeks, I have increased my weights abit because if I don't, I simply cannot feel much as the muscle has gotten accustomed to the same exercise.

But it will be different today. Wonder if I can survive the increased weights on the older releases.....

Pump Room

Finally went pump room with the guys - Candy, Marcus and Wendy last friday.

Well, not as fun as I thought it would be. Music was good when the band was out, otherwise it was boring most of the time. Crowd was good..no more 'kll / abnn'.

Possibly because the drinks could not get us high enough and we did not move up close to the band. Wonder why because the drinks were usually quite a killer..and I thought the gin tonic and tequila shot tasted quite strong. 可是still very not high leh...

Oh, haha...and I rescued a girl from the toilet bowl. She was wasted and had hugged the toilet bowl for 1 hour. Her friends were really helpless or rather useless. They got the bouncer to come and the bouncer also could not do much. The friends just left her and the bouncer inside the cubicle lor!! >.<

But the bouncer was decent la, when I went inside he was trying to talk to her to get her to stand up. He even wipped her face when we finally manage to get her to stand up and pull her out.

Fried noodles again!!

Fried noodles for lunch again today. It turned out better this time as the noodles and bee hoon did not stick together and become mashed up. Tip: the heat must really be strong when frying.

What is the rationale??

There is this JO who really treated pee-os like transparent!! Faith and I waited for more than 2 hours in his 'office'!! He mentioned ALL other cases including fresh ones, and put ours last. And I must mention that ALL these cases do not have DCs so no parties were waiting except for the 'client' of course.

Why? Why can't he mention our cases first so that we can leave?? Really not tired also became tired waiting. I had to leave his 'office' at least twice because I got a headache from all the waiting.

Elaine was in another 'office' and she left at 950am. Can see the difference?? Grrr...

Anyway Faith and I decided to have a good lunch after that! Went to Sakae Sushi at Toa Payoh Central, bought KOI and collected my GNC card. Yup anybody needs to buy stuff from GNC let me know!! Got discount! No point paying the membership for another card. I paid because I wanted to buy something quite expensive the other time and it was more worth it to pay for it.










Super BIG bowl of spicy ramen! The manager who served us saw our astounded look and commented: 'only bowl big la'!! Haha...so funny..

Tattoo!!

I love this Dafodil fairy!! And Dafodil symbolises my birth month!! :)) I don't want it to be so complicated...only want the fairy and the dafodils!



Need more time to go check out which tattoo shops offers temporary tattoo....apparantly they can print the tattoo design you want on special paper and ink and transfer it to your skin. Then can test how the tattoo will look like on you!!

Little sparrow!!

A little sparrow flew into my house on saturday morning! Flew right in and rested on my dinning table then my side table at the living room...so not tame hor...got to wake hubby to chase it out of the window!!

A Monday off...

Still had to get busy with a progress report and some office business, but fortunately Elaine was in office to help me print and submit the progress report.

Decided to go to the gym earlier for the afternoon pump class instead of waiting till the evening, especially since Cal's not teaching in the evening too...

After that, wanted to go to Centrepoint to take a look at the birkis since I was at Cathay but ended up running short of time.

Went to do my express pedicure instead then collect my Clarins stuff from Isetan at Parkway. Drank KOI while having my nails done...total bliss!! :))

But I forgot to replace my Isetan card which expired in Sep with the new one they mailed me. I had to go up to the customer service to ask them to still allow me to use the card, since they should have records that they mailed me the new card right?! The lady at the customer service was very nice so ended up I could still enjoy the discount but I had to make immediate payment instead of crediting it to the card.

That's good customer service! And I also like the service at the nail place today, as opposed to the one I went the other time....READ.
Happily wanted to go get a sponge for my new tonic shower concentrate but got distracted by DIVA on the way. Bought lovely earrings and met Ilyana by chance, talked abit and forgot about my sponge entirely :(. Cannot use my tonic shower until tomorrow night liao :(. Oh...and the tonic shower concentrate is really cheap at $36! I thought it would cost above $50! So bought 2 bottles - one for MP and the other to put at Punggol!

4 in 1 earrings only at $13. I like!

The nail art was also at $5 each but it did not feel expensive because of the good service!

Gyming with Faith!

Faith went with me to OGS gym on Friday because we were on a secret mission (cannot say if not wait she kill me!). Secret mission went quite well! Yeah!

Anyway she attended Cal's pump and combat classes. Haha...she got Cal abit frustrated as he kept having to correct her and ask her to put in more effort....but she gave him the 'oh I'm so tired don't bother me' look...wahahaha...

Next morning she sms-ed me: 'I can't move my arms and legs.....' haha....

Made steam yam cake for Alvin last night for him to bring up the plane to eat :) I scared he starve in India la...haha...no la....just wanted to make something for him as won't get to celebrate his birthday since he would be in India.

Wanted to blog about this last night but was damn shag after I reached home....fell asleep while searching for more recipes for chewy chocolate chips cookies!! I even missed the repeat telecast of 百万大歌星！！ Ahhhh.....

Body pump: The squat, chest, back, biceps and lunge tracks are KILLERS!! But surprisingly the triceps, shoulders and abs tracks are easy...

Body combat: somehow I don't like the new release. Felt that it is less intense and the moves are abit non-combat..hmmm...maybe have not gotten used to the moves yet and trying to catch up so felt less intense. Well..have to endure for 3 weeks whether I like it or not...so might as well try to like it la....

Oh yes..not to mention they used chicken little soundtrack as the warm up song...faint....it's really funny lor...it's even funnier when Cal sang it...nearly burst out laughing...
