...

I have 3 4 reports to submit on 3rd week of Oct - a drug case, a klepto case and a ID case. Plus a progress report.

FUCK.

Surface up to them already still the same. Never surface say we never surface.

What fuck is that?

Yes I am cursing because those people up there are still in their 'aiya you senior ma sure can la hor?!' mentality.

Why? Senior no need to eat, sleep and shit is it?!

Now that they have this ruling that nobody can represent you for the hearing if your presence is required just makes matters worse. Wanted to go medical checkup with my dad on 16 Oct..now have 2 hearings instead of 1. So now I have to cross my fingers and toes and god knows what to hope that BOTH cases do not require my presence at Havelock.

Nearly killed by a bomb!

Took time off yesterday. Returned to the office in the late afternoon around 430pm just to see a boy.

Luckily I came back lor, because lying in my email inbox was a bomb; a 'second tier' bomb passed on to me by one of the ADs. It was directed to that AD. I was told to 'teach' her/him (cannot be too obvious!!) to reply to that e-mail by THE END OF THE DAY.

So have to draft a reply lor......what to do. Imagine if I had not returned to office. Think I would have seen an exploded laptop on my table this morning!

80%?!

Spoke with Calvin yesterday and he said he is only 80% recovered!! Doctor actually told him to rest for 2 months but he refused. Now he has to go for follow-up treatments and take glucosamine everyday.

Sets me thinking if I should start to take glucosamine too.......old liaoz....>.<

Mooncake issues

Goodwood Park's assorted snow skin mooncakes were out of stock before I went to do my hair. I was told that there would be stock coming in an hours' time. However they refused to let me pre-order and collect later despite me explaining to them that I had to go to the salon and therefore unable to stay around to wait. Hmph....so inflexible la...just because their business is brisk. Last year also like that....

As expected when I returned at 730pm, there was only 1 favour left. It's ok 东家不打, 打西家!No big deal.

In the end bought 2 boxes of assorted snow skins from Fairmont. More expensive than Goodwood, but Fairmont had fair shares of good reviews too. Unlike Goodwood, the staff there allowed reservations. They did not even require the customers to pay first lor! The staff told 1 customer: 'It's worse if you pay first, I would have to wait for you if you did not turn up at the appointed time. But if you had yet to pay, then I'll just take it that your reservation is cancelled and I would sell it to other customers when you did not come and collect it at your appointed time.'

Now this is flexibility......

Hair issues

Went to Jean Yip Bishan to rebond my hair today as I can no longer stand the messy-ness. Needed to neaten it as I wanted to grow out my hair longer now.

And Jean Yip is the only salon where my rebonding experiences were good! But their charges were expensive la.

Did silk rebond, as apparantly soft rebond is no longer the in-thing.

Total damage: $188, package with 2 hair treatments - before and after rebonding. My stylist also included a free haircut.

Was there from 430pm to 730pm. Butt almost caught fire....>.<|||

Hmmm....

Wa, just read the news saying that Ms Singapore 2009 is on prob***** leh. How come I never hear about this in office??!!

A blast!!!

Calvin is back is action after more than 2 weeks of MC!!

His classes were a blast la!!!!!! Not full class already a blast...imagine if it was full class.....!

Tonic Body Treatment Oil

Love the smell of this tonic oil!! It would leave a nice aroma in the bathroom as well!! Nice nice nice!! Makes my bathroom smells like spa!!

Regretted not buying the bath and shower concentrate!! Maybe will pop by Isetan Parkway this weekend to buy!! But no more discount liao :(

Be careful!!

Wanted to buy some Harvey orange juice (from Western Australia!) from NTUC when I suddenly realised to my horror that they were expired! Yes the whole batch of Harvey orange juice were expired!!

Ended up buying the Harvey apple juice. They also have carrot juice.

It's selling at about the same price as Perth - $1.94!! The carrot juice is slightly more expensive.

Durian mooncake

Met with a bit of 困难 and wasted 200g of lotus seed paste, sugar, oil etc :(

I think the flame was too strong and the sugar got too charred. So when I added in the lotus paste, everything got too charred and became an ugly dark brown paste.

Threw the whole thing away as I did not have time to think of how to rectify it. Luckily I have another 100g of lotus seeds left.

<-- Paste in rubbish bin

So in the end only managed to make 9 durian snow skin mooncakes. The green tea one could not materialise this week too as I could not find green tea powder at NTUC.:(

Final product:

Recipe for Snow Skin Lotus Paste Mooncake

Snow Skin:

100g Koh Fun
70g Icing Sugar
30g Shortening
120g Cold Water

- Sift koh fun and sugar.
- Rub in the shortening using finger tips.
- Gradually add in cold water until mixture can be kneaded into a soft dough.
- Portion into 30g each.

Lotus Paste Filling:

200g Lotus Seeds
180g Sugar (I reduced to 120g)
160ml Oil (I reduced to 100ml)
1 Tbsp Honey
1 Tbsp Condensed Milk (I replaced with Honey)
1/8 Tsp Salt

- Soak lotus seeds for 20 minutes.
- Drain and cover with hot boiling water for another 30 minutes.
- Peel off the skin (I bought skinless one so easier to handle) and remove the green part in the center.
- Cook in water till soft and tender.
- Blend till smooth using a blender. (I used hand to mash it, so the paste still had bits of lumps)
- Melt half the sugar in a pot until golden brown.
- Add the lotus paste, oil, sugar and salt and cook using medium flame.
- Stir all the time till the paste thickens and can easily leave the side of the pot.
- Portion into 40g each.

Assembly:

- Wrap the filling with the snow skin.
- Press into the mooncake mould. (I bought the plastic one, as opposed to the wooden one. It is so much easier because it does not stick and there is no need to dust the mould with additional flour or soak it in oil to remove the wood flakes.)
- Knock out the mooncake and chill!

Steamboating!

Siew Ling prepared ALOT of food!

A table filled with food and headed by the 'chairman' and 'chairwoman'?!

Everybody 'full-tank' already except for Jac....Maybe she was only 3/4 tank full!! :P

We managed to clear everything!! Almost everything la....amazing...

Alvin the loser.....full until surrender....wahaha...

Home-made strawberry ice cream in personalised bowls! Jac bought the ice cream maker with the intention of making the ice cream at Siew Ling's house before the dinner! However, ended up Siew Ling had to make the ice cream because we changed the dinner from Sunday to Saturday and Jac had to work on Saturday!

Clarins!

Got great discounts from the private sale! 20% off and 10% vouchers for every $100 spent and $50 thereafter!!

Got quite alot of free gifts and travel-size samples too!!

Mooncakes to bring for gathering!

Yeah! Done with the mooncakes!! Hope by the time I reached SL's house from far far Punggol to far far Pioneer, the mooncakes won't turn soggy!

Expensive nail art!

Was on MC yesterday, got bored then decided to do some 太太 stuff. So I went to do express pedicure. Did this at a shop outside Parkway Parade.

Express pedicure: $12
Nail art: $5 each!! So expensive can!

And I vow never to go to that shop again because the service was real bad. There were limited designs for nail art lor. And they only had ONE nail art book for me to refer to when I did not see anything I liked that was displayed on the 2 plaques of sample fake nails.

And when I finally decided on the design - I picked a design that was on the plaque, the lady boss commented - wah choose so long in the end just choose the rose one ah?! WTF!!!

Nevermind 老娘心情好,so 不跟她计较!

And when people came in, her attitude was like as if they owed her a million dollars or were disturbing her peace...she would go like 'Yes? What do you want?' >.<

Her attitude turned for the better when she wanted to sell their package to me when I was leaving. 鬼才要你的 package ah!

I will not step into that shop again!!

Happy, daydreaming and sick

Happy that my mooncake's a success! Did not bring the 2 pieces to office this morning as it was simply too inconvenient since I had to go to Havelock. Shall bring next week if my durian mooncakes are successful!!

Now I am daydreaming about making many flavours of mooncakes - durian, green tea, sesame, chestnut, yam...and also about selling them!!! Dream dream dream...

And I think I am really sick this time. Nose block, sore throat coming in and forehead is warm and head is throbbing.

Time to swollow the yellow flu pill and zzz.....

What is wrong with me this morning?!

Was at Havelock Road this morning. After my session I wanted to meet my hubby for lunch at Plaza Singapura. I took the MRT at Chinatown. Don't know why I boarded at the wrong direction and ended up at Outram. So I alighted at Outram and took the train at the opposite direction. This time I alighted wrongly at Clark Quay. Didn't realised that until I went up the escalator and saw the sign boards! >.<|||

So I went back down and took another train!! This time I took the wrong train again to Chinatown!! My gosh. So I had to alight at Chinatown and take another train!! I was so relieved when I finally hear the announcement 'next station: Douby Ghaut'....

What was to be a less than 10 minutes journey took me like almost 30 minutes....

Tried on a dress at M)yphosis. I really liked it but it cost $74. 'Fortunately' they don't have the size I wanted! Wahaha...save money.

The cut

The handiplast slipped off this morning. Now I use the 3M one that is really sticky! I don't even dare to remove the plaster now! Scary.....

Mooncake!

It's late, I just got back to MP home from Punggol home, haven't bathe and has to wake up early tomorrow later! But I am just too excited and must immediately blog about this!!

I am successful at 1st my attempt at making snow skin lotus mooncake!!

The only 'failure' is that I was over-generous with the filling..but I followed the recipe wor...30g of snow skin and 40g of filling.

Anyway I just tasted abit and I like the texture of the snow skin!! Very q-q 有弹性!!

Made 10 pieces today - 1 for hubby, 1 for my dad and me, 1 for KS, 5 for M and his family and the remaining 2 I'll bring to office to see whoever wants to eat 吧!

Actually wanted to make snow skin with durian filling but I was afraid that I would be unsuccessful and then the durian would be wasted. How can waste durian? It's my favourite fruit leh!! I will cry if durian is wasted!! :D Now that I am more confident, I shall make it this weekend then!!

伤痕累累 but still worth it!!

SIS sugar really has damn high melting point lor!! My arm almost cooked liao yet the sugar haven't melt!!

Poor thumb got cut by crystalised sugar!! Got 2 cuts which were quite deep, could feel my flesh coming apart. Yucks don't like that feeling!!

Bruise on hand as a result of knocking the plastic mould on it to get the mooncakes out. Didn't feel any pain at first, but after knocking out 10 mooncakes, the story is different...>.<

Old friend

Glad to still be able to meet up with Seow Ling this morning despite a whole morning of silly waiting game at home. Told Jinny in the morning that I would meet them around 12 to 1230pm but only at 1210pm was I able to leave home lor!

As I was thinking whether to fly them areoplane, I noticed Jinny's sms asking me for my location. Decided to still head down to meet them since she said they would still hang around for awhile. If fly areoplane maybe I would have another 'branded name' tagged against me wor....wahahaha....

I seriously thought it would be Jinny and Ah Seow left by the time I reached. But everyone was still around except for Wendy! Yeah, glad to have met Ah Seow, Jinny and Sage!!

Ah Seow was craving for mahjong but we 三缺一 as there was only Candy, me and her. Too bad la she has to wait for her next return lor...

Hope I can get my clarins stuff on next thursday morning, then evening can go meet Wendy. Woot!! Then not going gym ma? Of course I am! After clarins then go gym lor. Take morning off ma!! Wahahah.....

Perth Day 1 - 2 Sep 2009, Wednesday

Before Departure:

Waiting for Elaine at the airport.

Entertainment on board the plane: a cutie little boy who sat in front of us. Cute!!! We also met him on the plane back to Singapore!

Arrived!!

Waiting for the gate to open. Strange don't know why got gate one.

Yes PERTH, here we come!

Waiting for the gals outside the washroom inside the arrival hall. Take a look at the boy wearing blue sweater (most left hand side). He could not stop crying! I thought maybe he felt uncomfortable but I overheard the parents said he was actually cranky as they woke him up. Well, the best was that the parents did not even do anything to pacify him. Even the officers at the customs were possibly petrified and disturbed enough by his crying such that they allowed them to cut the queue. But tada!! He stopped crying once he passed the customs!! Hmmm...I wondered what the officer told him!! Wahahah.....

Out at the arrival hall:

Quite an old and small airport.

Many many brochures awaited us!!

Say cheese!!

Bought our first meal of sandwiche here at the airport. Eat eat eat....
Got the car! Rented from Avis and we opted for the maximum insurance payout in the event of accident. So total cost of rental for the entire trip amounted to nearly $500, and that was excluding petrol. We spent about A$100 for the petrol. Fortunately we did not have to pay for overnight parking as there was a free lot just outside our hotel. So we would tour around the area to wait for that lot when we returned and if it was still occupied! :D Save money can! Parking DAMN expensive there siah!!!

Buy 4D hor!! 3-233. 3 in front because got 3 of us ma!! Wahahah...red!! One of my favourite colour! Immediately reminded me of my house!! Ay buy 4D and strike liaoz don't just keep quiet ar!! :P

Arrived at Criterion Hotel!! Situated in the middle of Hay Street.

No no, don't worry, I did not travel with 2 nutcase! They were just 'intrigued' by the retro-ness of the lift. The door closed very slowly, the whole lift would jerk to announce the arrival of our floor, the first time we used the lift the staff even had to manually activate it first. >.<|||

The rooms were lined on 2 sides of the corrider. Very very retro and not very new hotel la! Quite scary actually. Think I might freak out if someone were to suddenly open the door leh.

1 single and 1 double bed. The double bed should be mini queen size (got such a size in the market ma?) ba! Small leh!

But the toilet was clean la! Although the metal clothes hanger only lasted till the moment Elaine hanged her clothes on it. Well well..aiya forgot to take a picture of the 'fallen one'....

Ahem! This is only Part 1 (a)(i) of Jac's lem-bekness!! Wahahahah.....

After that we settled down we decided to tour around the neighbourhood and look out for some places that our colleagues recommended. Also a chance for me to try out driving la!! Since late at night no cars and pedestrians ma!! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.............have not driven a car for the last 6 years wor!! *I got my license in 2003!* Oh ho! We survived my driving for that night!! Jac took some pictures of me but I have not gotten from her yet. Must let me censor first then pick nice onces to post!

After that we returned to the hotel to zonk out. We needed to 养足精神 to drive out to Harvey Dam the next morning!! Yoo-hoo...farm stay!!
