First outing

My 2 new beauties went for their first outing to dinner at fish and co this evening. Though small, my beauty can contain a bunch of keys, my ipod, my other beauty (coach mini wallet), mobile phone and tissue holder with tissue of course! And there is still space with all that stuff inside! :D

Mr Calvin Kok tried to con me to stand in front of the studio again this afternoon. But I am too clever to be conned by him again this time.

True enough, he tried to be super hero leh.

1. The mic was not working very well, but those standing at the back told him many times that we could hear him well enough. He wanted to be super hero and carried out the class without mic lor. Sure sore throat one. Wahaha...

2. Half-way through the class he jumped down from the stage and joined the class on the floor. Alamak where got instructor so mad one? Luckily I never go to the front!

Went for dinner at fish and co with Selina, Liling and Elaine. Faith was supposed to come but could not make it last minute due to some work issue. Grr...ab** again...our lingo at referring to something/one! hahah >.<'''

It was one for one ladies night for mondays and tuesdays for the whole of June at fish and co. So today was the last day and we just had to go! So we had a main course each, a fried calamari to share, and 3 cakes at the end for dessert.

A great achievement for just 4 of us lor! We decided to go home after dinner since we had to work tomorrow and Selina's hubby had already arrived to pick her anyway.

Initially I thought I'd go to Cathy to have a walk. But after I reached Cathy, I really felt so heavy that I couldn't and didn't want to drag myself to go shop lor. So I u-turn and went to the bus stop to catch the bus home...haha...

My ego booster! Many people say it's nice! Of course nicer than the short bread la!

I think I know where the short bread went wrong liao. I might be because I doubled the ingredients as I wanted to make double the amount. I shall bake another time this week and this time I shall stick to the amount of ingredients as stated in the recipe!

Opps..and I forgot to keep a cookie for Marcus. Don't know why I suddenly forgot about him leh! Anyway I confessed to him liaoz...haha...I did separately pack a share for Audrey though, but we did not meet for lunch ultimately :(











Siew Ling's 糯米饭！ Yummy-licious! I finished it all up at one shot!!!! So much 心思 in packing and personalising it!! Such an eye-candy even before savouring it all up!

Last Saturday's lunch!

My mixed rice! I improvised it on my own and it is surprisingly yummy-licious!! I put pork, cabbage, button mushroom, golden mushroom, pacific clams, sotong ring and 虾米！！Think I shall make it for my friends in office 1 day. But I'll have to make many shares because I have many people to give to! Ahem I am trying to say that I have many friends in office!! Hahaha...:D

JW and Fernie came for class too and it was fun with them around la!

Really punished myself at gym today because I ate too much today! Attended pump and combat then ran for another 40 mins!

Gosh! Faith introduced another US site that sells very cute dresses!!! OMG!!! I am so into online shopping now!!!

I have shortlisted 5 items from a taiwan site. I am just waiting for their new release today as I saw another top that I liked! So I'll make the orders this afternoon!

Broke, but excited!

Trying to keep the mood light and happy!

I baked chocolate chip cookies last night to boost my ego since the shortbread did not turn out well. And the cookies were a success!!

Siew Ling cooked 糯米饭 this morning too. So her 糯米饭 would be the main dish, cookies the dessert and shortbread for those who's tummies are still not filled after 糯米饭 and cookies! Hee...

Oh yeah, might be meeting Audrey at TPC for lunch too! Long time no see, but she would not be bringing Hui Ning along :(

While I am looking forward to eating 糯米饭 and meeting Audrey, I also cannot wait for the day to be over, because I missed gym-ing! Have not exercised for 2 days, feel so out of sorts!!

Finally got a long awaited full saturday to myself and not 'sacrificed' to office! :D

Did quite abit of things - wash the bedsheets, mop the floor (on hands and feet leh..tiring >.<'''), bake shortbread (which unfortunately did not turn out too well again....grrrr), cooked lunch, played sudoku, watched TV...:)

Looking forward to several things this coming week!
1. Online shopping to arrive from Aussie land! Bought a pair of jeans, skirt and a sling bag from Sportsgirl online! Thanks to Faith recommendation!
2. My LV returning from Milan!!
3. Booking BKK hotel!
4. Steamboat dinner at Marcus' on saturday!
5. And of course gym-ing!

To losely translate the title - 'People who use their diaphragm to speak'.

I use this phrase (some of us in office actually!) to describe people who has such loud voice that hearing them speak can cause your head to ache and ears to ring. And the best part is, they are engaged in normal conversation like you and I chatting over lunch. I am amazed at how effortlessly they can project their voice.

Gosh....yeah..I met a few people like that in the gym. They can talk to each other when exercising with loud music blasting in the room. And trust me, if I try harder (I did not because I cannot be bothered to) I would be able to hear every single word they say. Cal subsequently got so fedup that he had to shut them up.

Oh yes, Cal was way in front in the studio and those pple were at the second back row! The distance is at least 5 meters, not forgetting with loud music blasting. That's how loud they were.

I am SO happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am getting a new wedding band for my 3rd anniversary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee......happy like kookoo...

Nope I am not a Zoe Tay wannabe who gets a pair every year. I just want something different! Something unique, just for me, and ME alone. I am self-centred, spendthrift, crazy etc etc, but whatever, it's MY wedding band! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

Now it time to make a trip down to Fairys' Inc!

What seems to be easy....

....might not be.

--> The shortbread. Easy to get ingredients and steps but actually not easy to bake; as required to handle butter that would melt SO fast in this extremely humid and hot weather. This time I use a fork to breakup and mix the butter into the flour (instead of using finger tips - finger tips because the tips temperature is the lowest so butter won't melt so easily and become gooey)

However, still not very pleased with my 2nd attempt, although it was less flaky than the first. I think the butter melt too quickly again.



I'll bake it again this weekend! This time I will use the mixer with the dough attachment to mix the butter and flour!

Went to office feeling disturbed that morning.

1. Earlier that morning, 4 persons took my dad's cab and they alighted at 4 different places. The last person ran off without paying.

2. PIE was very jammed. Nearer to the beginning (not far after turning into PIE from Eunos), a motorcyclist got injured and was lying on the left shoulder lane. Think his right leg was injured. After that, I thought the traffic would be smoother but no. And later I also realised that this man would have to wait for a long time before he could get any medical attention in the hospital as there was another accident further down.

3. Further down, a taxi, car and motorcyclist collided. The motorcyclist died and his body was on the right shoulder lane. About a few meters away I already noticed the number signs - those that the police used on crime scenes; and knew that the accident must have been fatal. But seeing the body lying motionless with a white plastic over it and the helmet on top so that the plastic won't fly off, made the feeling somewhat more bluey? dampened? gloomy? glum? Hmmm...I don't know how to describe that feeling.

Worse, the next day, Elaine alerted me to an e-mail that announced the demise of one of our Ministry's staff who died because of an accident. Sigh...it was the accident I saw the previous day.

Child birth

Was chatting with Fazle about child birth on Monday. His wife had just given birth over the last weekend. He said that the part when the baby came out was still alright, but he said that after the baby came out, the gynae rubbed down his wife's tummy and ALOT of blood gushed out! He said THAT was the gory-iest part, as opposed to the baby coming out!

The final outcome. I've already done my best la. But I need 2 bigger boxes for my bulky necklaces and bangles. Got to pack them temporarily in those small bags - seen at the bottom of this picture, and the 2 round tins first.

Sure enough I found some things that I've forgotten I have. And some of the things still had the price tags on them!! Hai, buy already then put aside and forgot all about it!

Again just another thought...

Should I get another wedding band? For 3rd year anniversary or something?

If I should get another one, think I would go to Fairy's Inc to customise my own design.

Oh yesh! After the movie, Elaine and I proceeded to Cathy as I wanted to take a look at the push carts.

After attending SM's mum's wake on saturday evening, Elaine, Liling, Kevin Goh, Alvin and I went to town intending to catch the movie 'The Taking of Pelham 123'. It was close to 9pm when we reached town. Town was packed to the extent that nobody would believe the economy is currently facing a slump. When we reached Cathy, the show just starting showing and the next slot was at 11pm. We did not want to wait so we walked to GV at PS. Tickets were selling fast and they had only 4 invidual seats spaced all over the cinema left. So 5 of us how to watch, even if we did not mind seating separately?!

Even not very attractive show like 'Drag me to Hell' had the same problem. So in the end we decided to settle for 'Land of the Lost'.

Gosh! Coma and die.

That was the WORST movie I ever watched in my entire life. It's totally crappy and lame. The only good things were that the show had some comedy moments, made us laugh at how crappy it was after that and the good company :)

Luckily we only paid $7.50 for each ticket, thanks to some discounts that Kevin had.

So, you have been warned.

1. Do NOT watch 'Land of the Lost'!
2. DO book tickets online if you want to watch movies in town on friday evenings, weekends and PHs!

Poor thing!

Cal's itouch just completely stopped working one-third into the back track! Poor thing lor, luckily there was a guy in class who knew how to reset the thing.

Steak at Astons wasn't that great. I wanted well done but it still had some blood, and it was also rather hard and fatty. Anyway, Alvin gave us a treat so still must thank you uncle tan la...wahahha...

I think I am famous

Yes I think I am getting rather famous in the gym. Some counter staff can remember my name, instructors are getting friendlier and even PTs will come up and say hi.

I am usually rather cautious about PTs because it might just be one of their tactics at getting customers. So PTs --> keep more than an arm's length away!! SHOO SHOO SHOO!

Sigh...I must work hard leh...weight has been stagnant for awhile....boo hoo hoo...

It's all about push ups!!

On thursday, while everyone was preparing for class, Joel suddenly came up to me and said 'be careful of the chest track, got push ups'. Walao, Mr Joel, I might look tired lor, but your chest track aren't going to kill me. And yes it didn't kill me, I did better then some of the men in your class lor. So see me no up....'coma and die'.

But I 'forgive' you because (1) your are one of my favourite instructors, (2) I knew you were just being concerned and friendly...wahahhahah...

On friday, Cal got the wrong moves and he punished himself with 10 push ups...

And yes I hate push ups...especially tri-ceps push ups....but those crazy instructors always like to do tri-cep push ups....grrr....

Am I blind?!

How come I suddenly have to conduct in-duck-tion today, when I noted that I was supposed to be on stand-by only??!!

Either I am blind or they did not inform me of the change. !"£$%^&*()....even Grumps vaguely remembered that I was supposed to be on stand-by.

Imagine if Syke (my partner) had not told me yesterday evening that she'd only be in office after 1pm, for fear that I could not find her in office, I would happily not turn up lor!!

I mean it's not about having to return to office, but it's the thought that I did not come to office, Syke having to manage it alone and the DIRE CONSEQUENCES of CHAN MEI LING not at office to conduct the damn in-duck-tion when she is supposed to....

Over prepared

Ok we got our i-ass-o re-certification on Thursday.

When I stepped out the the audit room, I felt so over-prepared.

So much so for returning to work on sunday and slogging my ass out till 1.30am and 2.30am on tuesday and wednesday nights.

OH!!! And not forgetting that I missed my favourite instructor's classes at Paragon on wednesday night lor!!! gggrrrrr.........
