Travelling for free!

I travelled for free on 17 Aug 2010! On buses and MRT!
I have 2 more cards to use :) So cheap skate wor.... :P

YOG soccer games on 17 Aug 2010 at Jalan Besar Stadium

The Ministry issued free tickets and we thought we should grab it at least for the 'companion VISA card'! :) Anyway since we got it, we might as well go take a look!

Wow, Jalan Besar stadium is really new and revamped!! Impressive, at least compared to what it was before! It is no longer the old and dirty stadium of yester-years. I was initially worried when I heard the game was there..hee...

Bolivia vs Haiti. We only managed to catch the last 5 minutes of this game.

Bolivia 9 and Haiti 0. Bolivia's 9th goal was scored towards the end of the game. Sigh. The crowd was actually rooting for Haiti to score at least 1 goal.

End of match for Bolivia and Haiti.

Next up was Montenegro and Zimbawe. Players warming up. Seriously, I have never heard of Montenegro before this day.

Montenegro players warming up.

Zimbawe players warming up.

Players and Officials getting ready.

Players from both teams shaking hands before the game begins!

Ticket and VISA companion card. Which is essentially a cash card. After activation, you get to travel free on public transport for 1 day :)

Mosquitoe bite that turned into a nasty bruise! Got it while waiting for Elaine outside the stadium.

Players and officials walking in...game will start after photo taking and singing of both team's National Anthem.

Announcement of lineup, phototaking and singing of National anthem for both teams.

Captains from each team tossing the coin.

Kickoff! Montenegro vs Zimbawe!

Final score Zimbawe 1 Montenegro 2. Zimbawe's goal also came at the last minute scored by my favorite player :)

Treatment 16 Aug 2010

The lower brace was fixed :)

Did not know that he would fix the lower brace that day.

Upper brace was tightened. Actually not that painful. The pain was tolerable, same as when the brace was put on. Weak and cannot bite, that's about it.

I chose violet for the 'studs'. :)

Personally I felt that the pain from the ulcer is more painful leh...:P But overall still very bearable as long as the wires do not cut the skin.

Why?!

Ok, the food at YOG might not be good. Ok, some of the volunteers had food poisoning.

There was already so much hype about it in the news and everywhere, I do not understand why some of the volunteers are still complaining at every little opportunity possible. I mean, ok, it's human nature to complain. If it was me, I would be complaining too.

But, the point is, shouldn't it end already?

Please, you guys are volunteers. Nobody forced you to be there. Can't you just be more gracious about it?

A new milestone :)

...for Liling :)Elaine and I saw her off at the airport on 10 Aug 2010. Yes, the fact that she is leaving really set in when we were at the airport :)

All the best at Washington University of St Louis, Brown School. We will be waiting for our master's student to return in 2 years time :)

She was trying to cover her 'obiang' sports shoes with her bag :) Actually the shoes was not 'obaing', it just that we had never seen her wearing like that before :)

Stupid doctor

Was in Court this morning so I went to Pearl's Centre (the red building opposite court) to look for a clinic as my rashes was getting irritable.

I really regretted going to the clinic.

1. The doctor was darn irritating. He spoke very slowly and wrote darn slowly and I suspect it was to prolong the consultation time! At the end of the consultation, he told me to continue to use my Clarins products (can you imagine that?!), use the ointment that he prescribed and the flu tablets to stop the itch.

2. At the end of the consultation, he cannot determine the cause of the rash. Not that I expect him to, because I know it is difficult to diagnose. But at least be more professional can. How can 'to continue to use Clarins products' as one of his treatment plans??!!

3. The consultation was $40!!!!! Another $18 for the ointment and flu tablets!!

I am boycotting that clinic!

My favourite instructors!

Calvin is finally back in action! Yeah!

But today is Junwei's last pump class on Monday evenings at Cathay, because he has school classes until 730pm in future. Wonder who is going to take over. Better got to be a good instructor.

My biceps got killed today. Junwei refused to allow me to download. Grrrr....but he's still one of my favourite instructors..wahahahah....

Creamy butter crab recipe

Ingredients:

2 flower crab; about 500g
1 1/2 cup evaporated milk
100 to 120g butter
1 teaspoon sugar or to taste
1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste
3 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon corn starch
2 stalks curry leaves
5 bird’s eye chilies

Method:

- Clean the crab and cut into pieces. Use paper towels to pat dry the crab.

- Mix the corn starch with water and set aside.

- Heat up a wok to medium heat. Melt the butter in the wok before adding the curry leaves and bird’s eyes chilies. As soon as you smell the aroma from the curry leaves and bird’s eye chilies, add in the crab and stir continuously until the crab starts to turn color.

- Add the evaporated milk and cover the wok and turn the heat to low. Simmer for about 5 minutes, and then add in corn starch to thicken the creamy butter sauce.

- Dish out and serve hot and the fried mantou.

Cooking in the wok!

Last night's dinner.

My man tou was abit chao tar! Haha..but it is healthy as I did not deep fry or add any oil!

The crab from seng shiong was really fresh and they would also do the chopping for you. The butter sauce was yummy!!! Just the sauce with man tou or rice can be a meal already!

I have left over sauce and I shall have it with rice later!!

Success!!!

Republic of Steak

Dinner at Republic of Steak with Tan Ah Fat. Cheap and nice. Only cost less than $15.

My beef burger with baked potato and calamasi drink as sides.

Tan Ah Fat's teriyaki chicken with buttered rice and mashed potato as sides.

8 years down the road

I have been working opposite at the hilltop for the past 8 years. But this is the first time I stepped into the polo club.

Orange juice, lime juice and apple juice.
Chicken sausage pizza, beef hor fun and smoked salmon wrap.

Bread and butter pudding topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate cake.

The scenary of the green field and stable is nice. If not for the insane heat, we should have been able to appreciate it more.

Forgot to take a picture of the washroom though. It is nice and fully air-conditioned! Extremly luxurious compared to the heat outside!

As for the food, I feel it is over-priced for that kind of quality.
