Too old!

This year's Ms Singapore Universe, the 1st and 2nd runner ups looks kind of too old for their age?!

Thank goodness...

...my house is only 91 sqm...

Spent the whole saturday afternoon mopping floors, changing bedsheets and doing laundry....

But would do household chores rather than typing reports...that's why I am still stuck with typing reports now...wahahah....sianz..

Photos!

Collection the wedding album, 1 small mini album, 床头照, 3 table tops and the CD-Rom from the studio on friday. Photos up on facebook!

Still have 2 more mini albums to be collected. Rejected the 2 because they forgot to touch up something on a photo - A strand of hair at the back which fell off the clip for the last few shots at marina barrage. Had to remove and then replace the 头纱 at Sentosa so the hair got messy.

GSS

Are there really many good sales out there? Must take a day of time off the week after to go shopping..

Still seaching for a nice oval jade bangle.......

Can be done!

Oh! I forgot to mention that I had a new record.

Treadmill, 5km, 35 mins 45 seconds.

WOW! I never never thought I could achieve that. In the past, I took 45 minutes to complete 5km. After that, timing improved to 40 minutes, then 38 minutes, then now under 36 mintues!! Woohoo!!

Ok...not amazing for some, but good enough for me liaoz! *pat pat* and *proud* :)

Where's all the time?

Really must find time to go for facial, cut hair and also get my ass down to Mt E hospital for the orthodontist appointment. Already called the clinic 2 weeks ago and was told that the procedure would be to make an appointment for a general checkup first.

Hopefully don't have to extract any teeth...if have to, then even higher possibility that I might not do it liao...

Unhappening...

This week has been the most unhappening week....Calvin was sick and then on leave...

Work has been depressing with those reports and difficult issues...

Thank goodness had a fun karaoke and makan session with Heng, Shane, Amelia, Yida and Bee earlier. We ate at the XO bee hoon restuarant, then went Chinatown Point for dessert as we were still early for karaoke. Then back to the 10 dollar club after dessert and sang till 1am.

Would just laze around later and then it's back to report typing on Saturday. Next week would be another depressing week. Just hope to get everything over soon.

Adrenaline-filled, fun-filled and food-filled day!....

....at Universal Studios Singapore with Marcus and KS, with guest appearance by Mr V :))

The place is definately not big and with many rides, but still substantial to occupy at least half a day :). We reached at 4pm and we really did not have time!! If not for Mr V, don't think we would have chance to take the junior roller coaster ride :).

Divided into Hollywood, New York, Ancient Egypt, Sci-Fi City, The Lost World, Far Far Away and Madagascar, the place was easy to navigate.

In Hollywood we went to:

Pantages Hollywood Theater - basically songs and dance performance by Universal Monsters such as Dracula, The Mummy, Frankenstein, Bride etc in an indoor theater, Broadway style.

Lining it's streets were famous Universal characters such as Frankenstein, Marilyn Monroe, Betty Boop etc available for photos taking.

Next we went to New York:

Lights, Camera Action - incredible boat-house set staged up to allow the experience of the force of hurricane, that made windows break, ceilings shake, lights fuse, wind sweeping in from the sea, debris and cargo ship storming towards you and finally fire engulfing the sea....incredible.. I like! :))

It was here that we met Mr V.

After that, we ran all the way to The Lost World:

We wanted to catch the 'Waterworld' show - needless to say, it was based on it's namesake blockbuster production. Live water show with death-defying stunts, explosions and firings, what else but to save the damsel in distress. It was a sheltered performance but be ready to get wet if you sit in the front rows.

After the show, KS was extremely hungry and we stopped by to have a turkey drumstick at Far Far Away. Soooooo yummy! :))

Mr V called and told us he could let us get on the rides as VIPs! Meaning, we do not have to queue!! So off into Far Far Away we went!!...

..and hopped onto the Enchanted Airways!! This was a junior roller coaster ride (well..the big Battlestar Galactica at Sci-Fi was closed!!!). Anyway, it was good enough to make KS scream and adrenalin sore sky high!!! Wahahaha...and I must say that sitting in the front row was really something! Scary! We could see the steepness of the track before the coaster took it's plunge! Every twist and turn was exhilarating since the last time I took such rides was 2 to 3 years ago at HK Disneyland!! Ahh...the burst of adrenalin...:))

We flew to Ancient Egyptian next:

...straight onto the Revenge of the Mummy without allowing time for our fast-beating hearts to recover! Indoor roller coaster here we come! Travel, or should I say plunge! into total darkness on this thrilling psychological ride! I must say that this ride was interesting. There was a point when the ride stopped and suddenly plunge backwards! We were not expecting it to plunge backwards! And Mr V had told us to take the back row, saying that it would be more fun! Yes, more fun that was! :))

We bought a photo of us on the ride (which I lost afterwards :( ). Mr V had to rush back to work and we were on our own again. We decided to go on another round of Mummy as we found out later that the queue was not long!!

Also impressed by the automatic lockers. Free for first 45 minutes.

After that we wanted to go to The Lost World for the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure. But we were told that it was closed for maintenance. How sad.

So we went back to Far Far Away into the theater for a 4D Adventure with Shrek and Fiona :) I had always loved to watch such 3D and 4D effects!! I love!!

After that we walked around to take photos. Mr V called and said he would join us to walk around! More photo takings for abit then off to dinner we went! Wanted to have pizza at Loui's NY Pizza Parlor, but it was closed :(. So we went to Mel's Drive-in instead. We had alot to eat with the $50 vouchers! The chocolate milkshake was fan-ta-bu-lous!!

Our last stop after dinner was at the Universal Studios Store - as we had vouchers to spend. I bought a Universal Studios Singapore mug. Paid $0 after the vouchers and staff discount from Mr V :)

Walked around abit outside, bought Reese's Peanut Butter Cup (yumss!) and went to the Casino. The entrance was nothing impressive. Had expected a more classy entrance but was disappointed. It looked very cina-ah-tiong. Maybe the inside is impressive?

I was so tired that I insisted on taking a cab home from Vivo! Could not bear the thought of dragging my almost dropped-dead body onto the train!!

Alamak!! How to go Bangkok in future like that??!!

Crazy shots!

The standard must take picture!!

KS's Woody Woodpecker lunchbox!

KS and his new love, which he said he would use to pack a packet of drink, a fruit and a sandwich to school everyday..hmm....

Stir-fry brocolli with mushroom and bak kut teh recipes

Stir fry brocolli with mushroom and sliced pork

1 small flower of brocolli, cut
1 tablespoon of garlic
Handfull of dried shrimp, soaked
3 dried mushroom, soaked and sliced
Oyster sauce and chicken broth for seasoning, just a little
Slice meat, seasoned with sesame oil, pepper and chinese wine
Water

1. Fry garlic till slightly brown. Add dried shrimp and fry till fragrant.
2. Add sliced pork. Fry till pork is almost cooked.
3. Add brocolli, mushroom and water. Add water according to how much gravy you want.
4. Add oyster sauce and chicken broth to taste.
5. Fry till brocolli is covered with sauce. Cover for about 2 minutes.

Bak Kut Teh

250g of spare ribs, washed
10 cloves of garlic, washed and lightly crashed
20g of tang kwei, washed
10g of kouqizi, washed
4 to 5 cups of water
1/4 cup of light soya sauce
Handfull of black pepper

1. Add all ingredients into the pot. Bring to boil over medium heat for 1 to 2 hours. Or until meat is tender according to your liking.

Think the tang kwei naturally has a strong taste and hence the soup tasted slightly bitter. So I added sugar to neutralise the taste. Think I should have added rock sugar instead.

Beef Stew Recipe

6 cubes of beef
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
Dash of basil leaves (self-improvised)
Dash of tobasco sauce (self-improvised)
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
1 onion, chopped
1 1/2 cup beef broth
3 potatoes, diced
2 carrots, sliced
mushrooms

1. Place meat in slow cooker. In a small bowl mix together the flour, salt and pepper. Pour over the meat and stir to coat meat with flour mixture. Stir in the garlic, basil leaves, worcestershire sauce, onion, beef broth, potatoes and carrots.

2. Cover and cook on low setting for 10 to 12 hours or on high setting for 4 to 6 hours.

Original recipe used bay leaf but I replaced it with basil leaf. I also did not add celery because I dislike celery.

Should have more gatherings

Had steamboat dinner with the gals - Jinny, Kat and Wendy at Mushroom Pot at Orchard on Thursday. Bad for the stomache because we ate alot! Otherwise it was great catching up!!

Hope our Bintan trip in June materialise.

Hope our get together at Changi Chalet materialise.

Ah....I have no more plans for travel for the rest of the year. How how how?? How can that be??

Sweet thoughts, sweet pressies :)

Pressies from US from Siew Ling!

Gingerbread cookie mould! Been looking for this since last Christmas!

She also managed to help me get my Marc by Marc Jacobs stuffs! Pictures to be up later!!

No expection, no disappointment :)

Yes, I think I have finally learnt my lesson. Truely learnt it.

And I greatly can understand that there won't be disappointment when there are no expection to begin with.

Not sure if I have blogged about this before.

About 1 to 2 months ago, my small boss asked us to note to her all our various portfolios above the expected required portfolio.

She later came to tell me that they (the bigger bosses) decided to take some things off my load as they felt that I am holding on to too much stuff.

Sometime last month we had our assessment and review. Well, needless to say, things changed again. Or maybe they have never meant what they said and hence there wasn't any change in their opinion.

They said: 'your role is simply too important for us to replace you with another person'; and 'your portfolios are mostly staggered, so it does not really come all at one time'.

This is what chinese say: 黑的都可以讲到变白的,死的都可以变活的。。。。

Anyway, I did not believe anything good would happen anyway so there was no disappointment.

Like this week, my partner for one of the portfolios had to undergo a surgery unexpectedly. I had to do almost everything (except the statistics which I was not trained to do, and at times he still helped to liase with our external partner on some last minute stuff). Nobody had approached me at any time to ask if I needed another person to help. Anyway, nevermind. Don't complain.

Next milestone, things will be different.
