Well the trip to KL went smoothly..but don't know what's expected of us from office.
Will write on what happened daily..
DAY 1 SUNDAY 26/08/07:
Depart for KL. Before going to airport, made a mad rush to office to handover a file for Wednesday's report submission. Met Cheng Leng at the airport at 1.30pm. Checked-in and tried to login to do my transport claim via wireless at the waiting lounge. But to my dismay, the wireless only support starhub users! @#$%^&*
Flight was slightly delayed. Reached KL International Airport at around 4.20pm. As usual not very impressed with the customs...so many passengers yet they only opened so few booths!..not to mention that the system was so disorganised. We had to take a terminal train to the arrival hall and after that had to wait for another 20 mins to claim our luggage can!! Can faint man...we were like standing at the belt and seeing the same luggage go past us again and again.
Stepped out into the arrival hall and this taxi man immediately approached us and asked if we needed a cab to the hotel. He said that they originally charged RM$150 but he would give us discount and charge us RM$100 ONLY. I told him that my dad and my friend told me that it would cost at most RM$70. He then exclaimed: 'huh where got so cheap..nah xiao jie if you don't believe me I take you to the booth then you can ask the price yourself'...We politely declined yet that @#$%^& man kept following us and nagging behind us...He finally left us alone when we firmly and abit fiercely tell him that we were not interested in his service...We later managed to find the ticketing booth for the cab service. Guess what! It cost only RM$67 including the tolls! Thanks goodness we were forwarned. Well even though we can claim the money back, I would still not want to be cheated lor!! Angry can!
Reached the hotel around 6.30pm. Our room had 3 beds. Not posh but acceptable. Physically clean and all that la...We then proceeded to The Mall opposite our hotel to have dinner. Cheng Leng's friend could only make it to meet her later. I was hyping so much about The Mall - having a shopping centre JUST opposite our hotel...scarli go there...really disappointing can..it's worse then our Lucky Plaza lor...faint..so sad siah...anyway we had KFC for dinner because Cheng Leng said she wanted to eat KFC because Malaysia's KFC is nicer. We thought it was a good idea since both of us were famished. Hmm..indeed the food tasted nicer..and the 2-piece chicken set came with drink, a bun and both coleslaw and whipped potato...and it cost less than RM$9..
We decided to call Cheng Leng's friend to meet us at KLCC instead because she was still not here after we had our dinner and 'shopping' at The Mall. Cabbed down to KLCC. Cost only about RM$5. Cheng Leng met with her friend there while I shopped alone. Quickly browsed through the shops as there wasn't much time. Emphasis was placed on getting Marcus' pressie. However, can't find anything nice!! I couldn't find the tie design that I had in mind. Anyway, got myself a nice bag from mango. Cost about RM$79. Cheng Leng's friend offered to send us back to the hotel. Reached hotel about 10plus pm. Early hor..anyway we thought we should sleep early so that we would not fall asleep during the symposium on the next day..haha
I wanted to do my transport claims that night so I enquired about the broadband connection charges. The charges were atrocious and nonscensisal la!! They charged RM$1.57 per minute for the first 31 minutes; once you exceeded 31 minutes they would charge the 24-hour rate which was RM$57. They started counting from the time you logged-on; and your password would expire after 24-hours; even if you had disconnected from the internet in between the 24-hours!! So illogical can!! Wah they thought their hotel guests who used the internet at night don't have to sleep meh...anyway I managed to do everything within 15 minutes..still cost quite a bomb lor..:(
DAY 2 to be continued.......
